Hours would be:

• Every Sun, Mon, Tuesday and every other Wednesday 6:45pm-7am

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Serves as the clinical and operational lead for the center’s shift operations while on duty.
• Makes admission decisions to all Spring Creek adult and children Urgent Recovery Centers based on comprehensive assessment.
• Models, practices, and promotes a recovery environment for staff and guests that reflects person-centered, culturally competent, and trauma-informed principles as well as the service values of CREOKS Behavioral Health Services.
• Inspires and motivates staff to maintain a customer-oriented focus for guests and stakeholders as well as creates a culture of respect, helpfulness, and courtesy amongst staff. Provides positive and constructive coaching and feedback to staff.
• Exhibits a non-judgmental approach, effective listening, good eye contact and positive interactions.
• Demonstrates knowledge of all current policies and procedures of the agency as well as State of Oklahoma Administrative Rules, Title 43A Oklahoma Mental Health Law (standards for initial assessment, protective custody, emergency detention, care, and adjudication of persons considered in need of involuntary treatment), accrediting bodies, and other applicable state and federal regulations.
• Knowledgeable about best practices for providing psychiatric crisis services including but not limited to assessing for imminent risk, safety planning, group therapy, and recovery-based interventions.
• Performs duties of a crisis therapist for both children and adults including but not limited to crisis assessments, comprehensive mental health assessments, identifying/analyzing factors that affect mental health, collecting data from multiple sources using assessment techniques that are appropriate to the guest’s needs, diagnosing psychiatric and co-occurring disorders, evaluating potential abuse, neglect, and risk of danger to self and others, and assisting guests and families in securing the least restrictive environment for ensuring safety.
• Initiates and/or ensures appropriate responses to all medical and psychiatric emergencies in accordance with agency medical protocols and agency procedure. Utilizes and models nonviolent crisis de-escalation techniques with guests and reserves physical safety interventions as a last resort.
• Continually strives to learn about new practices that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the program in providing recovery-oriented, person-centered, and culturally competent services.
• Communicates complaints and incidents to supervisory personnel in accordance with agency policies.
• Contributes to effective teamwork by combining skills and energies in a coordinated effort with supervisors, co-workers, guests, and outside agencies.
• Ensures confidentiality of all guest information.
• Courteously provides assistance in a concise, informative manner, keeping a positive tone and appropriate non-verbals.
• Maintains the clinical records system in accordance with ODMHSAS, OHCA, and CREOKS policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Competencies Required:

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related degree.
• Possess a valid Oklahoma license to practice psychotherapy e.g. LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LADC-MH.
• Prefer 2 years experience in psychiatric crisis or inpatient hospital setting.
• Ability to motivate staff and inspire them to maintain a customer-oriented focus with guests, stakeholders, and other staff members that reflects the values of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and co-occurring care.
• Demonstrated ability to delegate authority and provide coaching, support, and feedback.
• Thorough understanding of the standards for initial assessment, protective custody, emergency detention, care, and adjudication of persons considered in need of involuntary treatment as prescribed by Title 43-A, Oklahoma Mental Health Law.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of crisis intervention as well as recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and co-occurring care.
• Excellent verbal, written communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Conceptual awareness of how and where community mental health services interface with allied human services organizational activities.
• Demonstrate competence in CPR and all de-escalation techniques. Must be able to physically perform all these tasks.
• Ability to maintain flexible hours.
• Must be available for on-call tele and face-to-face assessments and critical incident reporting.
• Must have a valid OK driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass and complete DHS licensing and background check requirements for working with children.
• Successful completion of agency-required training as well as the agency approved nonviolent crisis de-escalation training within 30 days from date of hire.
