Associate Attorney

A Houston-based law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. The attorney will work directly on complex litigation and arbitration matters involving financial services and securities, oil and gas, commercial real estate, and healthcare. Responsibilities Handle complex civil litigation and arbitration matters from inception through resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents. Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, and case law. Advise clients regarding legal rights, obligations, and litigation strategies. Participate in negotiations, depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and other proceedings. Handle matters involving trade secrets, non-compete agreements, unfair competition, business defamation, and tortious interference. Communicate effectively with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties. Manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active Texas Bar admission or eligibility for timely admission. 3-5 years of litigation experience. Strong litigation and/or arbitration experience. Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Experience drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and client communications. Strong analytical skills and professional judgment. Ability to manage multiple matters independently and work effectively within a team. Strong commitment to client service, professionalism, and continued legal development. Spanish language skills are highly preferred Compensation & Benefits Billable Hours Bonus: $8,000 per additional 100 hours billed and collected above 1,800 hours annually, prorated.
