Principal Network Engineer

A leading fintech organization is seeking a Principal F5 Network Engineer to join their team in a hybrid role based in Phoenix, Chicago, San Francisco, or New York. This is a full-time opportunity focused on advanced network architecture, leveraging technologies such as F5 BIG-IP, AWS load balancing, enterprise DNS, and hybrid cloud networking. This role is ideal for an experienced network engineer who wants to operate at a strategic level while remaining hands-on. Required Skills & Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in network engineering, design, and support
• Deep expertise with F5 BIG-IP including LTM, APM, and ASM
• Strong experience with GTM, DNS, and enterprise traffic management solutions
• Background in routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
• Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper networking equipment
• Experience with load balancing across on-prem and cloud environments
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, and core networking fundamentals
• Proven ability to lead large-scale projects such as data center migrations
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills

Desired Skills & Experience:

• 15+ years of networking experience (assumption based on seniority)
• Experience with Infoblox DNS and AWS Route53
• Exposure to cloud networking and software-defined networking
• ITIL certification or experience
• Background in consulting or vendor management

What You Will Be Doing:

• Design and implement highly available application delivery solutions using F5 technologies
• Develop and manage traffic policies, iRules, and load balancing strategies
• Lead initiatives around DNS architecture and hybrid cloud networking
• Partner with infrastructure, application, and security teams to build scalable solutions
• Provide mentorship and guidance to engineering teams
• Ensure reliability, performance, and disaster recovery readiness across the network
