Electromagnetic Computation Engineer

What To Expect Tesla is seeking a motivated engineer for enhancing its electromagnetic computational capability. This position is critical for Tesla’s current and future product. The engineer will work in the motor research team to develop accelerated computation software and hardware and develop the system optimization strategy and workflow. What You’ll Do Develop, integrate, and scale high-performance computational tools including MPI+CUDA PDE solvers for electromagnetic analysis; domain decomposition schemes and algebraic multigrid methods; and time‑domain simulation frameworks. Build and train surrogate models and neural operators (PINN, FNO, DeepONet) to accelerate simulation and optimization workflows of electromagnetic systems. Develop multi‑physics simulation strategies for real‑world operation conditions considering device uncertainties and nonlinearities. What You’ll Bring Degree in Computational Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience and evidence of exceptional ability. Experience developing optimization algorithms and workflows. Good physical understanding of electrical machines and power electronics. Strong programming skills.
