LPN / Licensed Practical Nurse - PRN

Careers With Purpose Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long‑term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Key responsibilities: Perform testing to evaluate resident status and provide necessary care. Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations. Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents. Contribute to resident assessments and administer medications or treatments as ordered. Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, health‑care providers, and the public. Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Counsel residents, family members, and residents’ advocates on prevention and treatment plans. Develop self‑care programs based on resident education principles. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a licensed practical nurse. Associate degree in practical nursing preferred. Meet state licensing requirements and hold an unencumbered LPN license with the State Nursing board; multi‑state licensure privileges accepted. Have completed a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan or have a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility. If the position requires IV therapy/management skills in North Dakota, possess a graduation from a Board‑approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. Obtain and maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications. Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training of the department and facility.
