Marketing Specialist - Events

LOCATION

Carrollton, TX | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

* $22-$24 per hour

* 30-40 hours per week; Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

* Temporary position with full-time hours and the possibility of part-time scheduling

ROLE IMPACT

Support the planning, promotion, coordination, and successful execution of a large community festival and related marketing initiatives. This role works across departments, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and community stakeholders to deliver an organized, engaging event while managing marketing communications, logistics, budgets, and day-of-event operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop festival marketing content across print, web, social media, television, video, and other digital channels, including copywriting, design coordination, editing, and production of promotional materials.

* Coordinate event logistics, including entertainment, rides and games, food and craft vendors, merchandise, venue layouts, site plans, catering, contracts, quotes, invoices, and event services.

* Plan and review advertising campaigns, develop creative marketing concepts, maintain accurate web and social media content, and promote the event to community members, staff, sponsors, and other stakeholders.

* Manage vendor requirements and approvals, support event budgets, coordinate volunteers, participate in planning meetings, and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and external partners.

* Provide onsite leadership during event setup, operations, and teardown; resolve issues as they arise and use survey feedback and event results to recommend improvements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience in marketing, public relations, communications, event planning, event coordination, or a related field; .

* Strong writing, communication, organization, customer service, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

* Experience using computers and related software applications, with working knowledge of marketing, social media, digital communications, vendor coordination, and event planning practices.

* Experience coordinating events, vendors, and budgets.

* Professional communication skills with flexibility, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with community stakeholders.
