Mental Health Technician

Responsibilities Mental Health Technician Opportunity This opportunity is full-time 8-hour or 12-hour shift options: 3pm-11:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am with rotating every other weekend to work. 1 year experience in mental health with a bachelor's degree preferred. The Meadows Psychiatric Center is the leading behavioral health treatment facility in Central Pennsylvania. We are located a short distance outside State College, PA. The Meadows is a 119 inpatient behavioral health hospital and has been providing comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults for over 35 years. Website at The Mental Health Technician functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from adolescent through geriatrics. All MHT's work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Responds to patient crisis events accordingly using de-escalation techniques. Leads activity groups for patients according to the program schedule Conducts patient observation rounds throughout the shift to ensure safety Supervise patients in daily activities and assist treatment team with patients to provide therapeutic activities Document patient behaviors, condition, & progress Monitors visitation regarding patient safety.
