Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with expertise in Cardiac Telemetry to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in the Cardiac Telemetry unit.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings, managing dysrhythmias and administering cardiac drips as required.
• Assist with post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients including CABG, AVR, MVR, and more.
• Perform sheath removal, manage chest tubes, and provide non-invasive airway management.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient education and support families during the recovery process.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience on a cardiac floor is required.
• Traveler experience preferred unless candidate has over 24 months of cardiac experience.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Skills in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and management of post-myocardial infarction care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with arterial line management and wound care, including wound vacs.
• Charge experience is a plus.

Unit Details & Environment

• Patient ratios vary per acuity; generally 1:4 for surgical step down and 1:5-6 for lower acuity.
• This position requires working night shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Flexible weekend commitments with a total of 4 weekends per month.
• A 24-hour orientation will be provided upon hire.
• Expectations include participating in a Storm Team and reporting to work during catastrophic events or mass casualties.

Special Equipment Used

• Arterial lines, Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG machines.
• Chest tubes, Epicardial pacing wires, and various cardiac monitoring systems.
