Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Operating Room (OR) care for a 13-week contract assignment at Vail Valley Surgery Center in Vail, Colorado. This role is integral to providing expert, individualized nursing care to surgical patients and their families within a dynamic surgical environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily patient flow, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through comprehensive assessment, intervention, and education. This position requires a commitment to patient safety, satisfaction, and adherence to professional nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, compassionate, and individualized nursing care to patients and their families throughout the surgical process.
• Collaborate effectively with providers, surgical staff, and other healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Oversee and optimize daily patient flow within the Operating Room to ensure efficiency, safety, and patient satisfaction.
• Triage incoming patient requests for services, information, and assistance, demonstrating strong prioritization skills.
• Deliver thorough patient education to facilitate understanding of the plan of care, promote informed healthcare choices, and support optimal wellness.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in surgical procedures, consistently adhering to strict patient safety guidelines.
• Coordinate patient care seamlessly with other physician practices and healthcare facilities, including Vail Health, to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegate care appropriately and in accordance with Colorado state statutes and professional nursing standards.
• Maintain strict compliance with all HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room (OR) setting.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated competent healthcare assessment, prioritizing, and critical thinking skills.
