Job Description Summary

The responsibilities of this position include maintenance, repair and installation of a wide variety of building and mechanical, piping and electrical systems associated with office, laboratory and pilot-scale dosage drug product development within the Research and Development department in Webster Groves, MO. This position handles preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, general facility work, and equipment improvements as needed.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Troubleshoot HVAC systems, gas fired and electric boilers, chillers, cooling towers, USP and deionized water systems, compressed air systems, HVAC controls, and building automation systems.

• Maintain instrumentation, electrical controls, motor controls and PLCs.

• Familiarity with National Electric Code, electrical schematics and electrical troubleshooting.

• Troubleshoot building, mechanical, electrical and piping systems.

• Perform preventative maintenance and document completion using Maximo.

• Support capital project execution, schedule and direct contractors, and apply construction management knowledge.

• Adhere to safety and compliance standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational certification preferred.

Experience: 2 years hands-on maintenance experience in facilities or laboratory maintenance.

PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledge of construction methods and management.

• Universal Certification for CFCs.

• Knowledge of laws governing industrial gases.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical and machine schematic drawings.

• Ability to work off shifts, nights and weekends as required.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels.

• Ability to make decisions with minimal information.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

• Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor at Webster Groves.

• Internal contacts include all levels of the organization.

• External contacts include contractors, vendors and service providers.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Normal equipment maintenance and clean cGMP environments.

• Ability to wear a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).

• Flexible work schedule required.
