Key Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans as designed by the supervising Physical Therapist, which may involve therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and the application of various modalities.
• Continuously monitor and document each patient's response to therapy, adjusting treatment approaches as needed to accommodate individual progress and health status.
• Provide education to patients regarding their rehabilitation exercises, ensuring they understand the purpose and technique involved, and the proper use of therapeutic equipment.
• Act as the main communication link between patients and Physical Therapists, reporting any patient concerns or progress updates promptly.
• Accurately complete and maintain patient care records and billing documentation in accordance with organizational standards, securing necessary sign-offs from supervising therapists.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training as required by the organization and seek to contribute positively to collaborative team efforts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising Physical Therapist to support team goals and improve patient care outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will work with include individuals recovering from surgery, injuries, and chronic pain conditions, with a central focus on those undergoing cancer treatment. Your role will be particularly impactful as you provide sensitivity and expertise to help oncology patients navigate their rehabilitation journey, enhancing their quality of life during treatment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
• Licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Florida is required.
• At least one year of practical experience in a physical therapy setting.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to build rapport with patients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in oncology rehabilitation is highly desired and will enhance your ability to deliver specialized care.
• Certification as a Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) or a willingness to pursue such certification will be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
