American Traveler is hiring a Wound Care RN with CA licensure, WCC certification, and previous charge nurse experience for a hospital wound care unit.

Details

• Work in a hospital Wound Care unit
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8 hours (0800-1630)
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:9 with acuity of one patient every 30 minutes and 8-10 patients daily
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• WCC certification required; WOCN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Proficiency with wound treatments and dressings including alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, and silver products
• Skilled in autolytic, enzymatic, mechanical, and sharp debridement techniques
• Experience with wound vac therapy and wound cultures
• Proficient in ulcer risk assessment tools including Braden scale and pressure ulcer staging (Stage I-IV)
• Skilled in ostomy care including colostomy/ileostomy management and ostomy equipment selection
• Experience with peripheral arterial and venous status ulcer assessment and management
• Knowledge of G-tube/J-tube feeding and site care
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Responsible for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care including direct skin and wound management
• Provide patient and family education on wound care, ostomy management, and transitions of care
• Develop and implement interdisciplinary care plans addressing psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors
• Maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare team through effective communication
• Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations to ensure high-quality patient care
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
• Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request permitted
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
