Beverage Manager / Sommelier The Beverage Manager / Sommelier is responsible for managing and elevating the restaurant’s wine and beverage program while delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role combines beverage expertise, hospitality, staff leadership, and financial accountability. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operation of the wine and beverage program, including wine, spirits, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic offerings. Curate and maintain a thoughtful, profitable wine list that complements the restaurant’s cuisine and concept. Provide knowledgeable, personalized wine and beverage recommendations and lead professional tableside wine service. Develop wine and beverage pairings in collaboration with the culinary team. Manage purchasing, inventory, storage, pricing, beverage costs, and supplier relationships. Train and mentor service staff on wine knowledge, beverage service, and hospitality standards. Conduct regular tastings and team education to maintain a knowledgeable and confident service team. Support wine dinners, special events, tastings, and private dining experiences. Ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service and restaurant standards. Qualifications Experience in upscale or fine-dining hospitality. Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and beverage service. Sommelier or wine certification a plus. Excellent communication, leadership, and guest-service skills. Strong organizational and inventory-management abilities. Understanding of beverage costs, purchasing, and profitability. Professional, polished, and hospitality-driven approach. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
