Surgical Technologist - First Assist

This role provides aid during surgical procedures to assist the surgeon in ensuring optimal results for patients. This position includes intraoperative duties as well as preoperative and postoperative responsibilities. The surgical assistant functions under the direction and supervision of the surgeon and must adhere to all hospital policies and regulations.

Requirements include completion of a formal Surgical Assistant Certificate or Degree Program approved by relevant authorities. Hands-on training must encompass basic and advanced suturing, identifying anatomical structures, and techniques related to hemostasis and exposure. Two letters of recommendation from surgeons who have recently observed the assistant's professional behavior are necessary. Continuous education is encouraged to maintain current knowledge and skills.
