Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a night shift travel contract at a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center in Springfield, MO, requiring a minimum of 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma facility.

Details

• Emergency Department unit in a 68-bed ED at a high-volume, urban Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and regional burn center
• Treats a high-acuity patient population including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and burn cases, with 200+ patients per day
• Routine patient ratio of 4:1, subject to change based on surge and other circumstances
• EMR: Epic
• Night shift schedule, 19:00–07:00
• 13-week contract
• Weekends required as determined by facility
• No call or on-call requirements
• No floating required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active RN license in Missouri or compact license meeting eligibility for Missouri licensure
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only); TNCC; NIHSS (must be obtained prior to start if not held at time of consideration)
• Minimum 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 trauma facility, OR minimum 2 years of ED experience in a Level 2 trauma facility
• ED experience must be clearly reflected on resume
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, push, and pull for the majority of the shift; push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs; kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed

Additional Information

• Performs direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes
• Trauma, peds, and high-acuity experience is preferred
• Night shift orientation takes place on day shift; must be available for the entire orientation week
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
• RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week of the assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but will receive a reduced bill rate
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
