Portsmouth, United States | Posted on 07/30/2026 Salary Starting at $19.50/hr + Incentive Opportunity Pay City Portsmouth State/Province Ohio Country United States Job Description The Maintenance Electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility by performing electrical maintenance tasks, troubleshooting electrical issues, and implementing preventative maintenance measures. The Maintenance Electrician will be instrumental in maintaining production uptime and quality by ensuring efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. Duties Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing electrical preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, and electrical control systems. Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and repair or replace defective components as needed Install new electrical systems and equipment according to specifications and safety standards. Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to address mechanical and electrical issues that may arise. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed. Assist with developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical maintenance preferred Proven experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metal industry Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and wiring diagrams Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical issues and performing repairs Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to follow documented process instructions working independently as well as part of a team Good communication and interpersonal skills Drivers License Ready to Work Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions Safety focus (Personal protective equipment [PPE] required in manufacturing facilities) Prior experience operating fork-truck lifts is a plus A strong desire to learn on the job is a plus Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed Incentive Pay on top of Base Wages 401(k) Plan with eligibility for a matching contribution Health, Dental, and Prescription Benefit Coverage Life insurance Paid time off and holidays Opportunity for Overtime Pay Opportunities for advancement and career development About Us OSCO is a leading USA-made iron parts manufacturer dedicated to delivering high-quality products to our customers.
