This role supports the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing methods for complex electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, and throughput.The selected candidate will support the production of circuit card assemblies (CCA), sub-assemblies, cable/harness assemblies, chassis assemblies, and higher-level system integrations. This individual will work closely with Operations, Quality, Test, Reliability, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program teams to address manufacturing issues, improve process efficiency, and support production execution to meet customer requirements.This position requires strong technical aptitude, the ability to manage multiple assignments in a production environment, and experience with electronics manufacturing processes, tooling, process documentation, and continuous improvement. Familiarity with printed circuit board design, fabrication, and assembly processes is beneficial.Essential Functions:Support manufacturing engineering activities for production hardware to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable processes that meet quality and delivery requirements along with dispositioning non-conformances of products.Assist in developing, implementing, improving, and sustaining manufacturing processes for complex avionics hardware including CCAs, microelectronic assemblies, cable/harness assemblies, chassis, and higher-level assembliesGenerate, update, and maintain Assembly Method Sheets (AMS), work instructions, process flows, tooling requirements, and related manufacturing documentationSupport evaluation of manufacturing constraints and implementation of process improvements to improve producibility, yield, cycle time, and throughputDesign and develop manufacturing tools, fixtures, and process aids with emphasis on standardization, mistake-proofing, and operator effectivenessCreate manufacturing fixturing using in-house additive manufacturing resources and other appropriate tooling methodsSupport automation and semi-automation initiatives for manual manufacturing processes such as torque application, chemical dispensing, and similar assembly operationsProvide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing technicians and operators to ensure proper execution of manufacturing processesCommunicate effectively with internal and external customers regarding manufacturing issues, priorities, and statusSupport root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions related to nonconformances, recurring defects, process escapes, and yield issuesSupport MRB activities including review of discrepant hardware, defect trend analysis, and implementation of corrective actionsReview drawing revisions and parts list updates for manufacturing impact and support incorporation of engineering changes into productionAnalyze workflow, labor content, and material flow to support improvements in manufacturing and test throughputSupport lean and continuous improvement initiatives of both technical and operational nature to reduce waste and improve safety, quality, delivery, and costUse data and process metrics to identify trends and support manufacturing performance improvementsPrioritize and execute in an environment with multiple concurrent tasks and responsibilitiesQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.Experience with CCA manufacturing processes, cable assemblies, and electro-mechanical assembliesExperience supporting manufacturing issue resolution and process improvements in electronics, avionics, aerospace, or defense production environmentExperience supporting manufacturing documentation, process control, and engineering change implementationPreferred Additional Skills:Working knowledge and general understanding of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001 and AS9100.Background in manufacturing of electronics for Military and Government SystemsExperience in Lean principles; mistake proofing, 3P, 5S+1, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Root Cause Analysis, Cause & Effect, Gemba, Pull-Flow, etcAbility to obtain Secret Clearance preferred but not required.Familiarity in Control or similar MRP based system and Aegis based Manufacturing Execution SystemKnowledge of Manufacturing Execution System (i.e. Fusion V7, FactoryLogix, Solumina)Automated chemical dispensing process developmentAutomated/Semi-automated torque tools process developmentKnowledge in PTC CREO, technical writing, MS Project and/or MS SharePoint.Strong analytical and problems solving skillsAbility to obtain Secret Clearance preferred but not required
