Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA) Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, secure, and optimize enterprise database environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, integrity, and security while supporting business-critical applications. The DBA will collaborate with development, infrastructure, and support teams to implement database solutions and resolve performance issues. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database management systems. Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and database structures. Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Ensure database security, user access controls, and compliance with organizational policies. Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions. Implement and maintain high availability and replication solutions. Perform database capacity planning and storage management. Support application deployment activities and database migrations. Create and maintain database documentation, standards, and procedures. Collaborate with development teams to review database designs and optimize application performance. Required Skills: Strong knowledge of relational database concepts and database architecture. Experience in database administration, monitoring, and performance tuning. Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies. Understanding of database security and compliance requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Technical Skills: Database Platforms: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB Query Languages: SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL Performance Tuning and Optimization Database Backup and Recovery High Availability and Replication Technologies Database Monitoring Tools Linux and Windows Server Administration Cloud Databases: AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL Scripting: PowerShell, Python, Shell Scripting Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Management, or a related field. Relevant database certifications are preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate Oracle Database Administrator Certification AWS Certified Database - Specialty PostgreSQL Professional Certification Experience: 3-7 years of experience in database administration and support. Hands-on experience managing production database environments. Experience with database migrations, upgrades, and performance optimization. Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices is preferred. Preferred Qualities: Strong attention to detail and data integrity. Ability to work under pressure in a production support environment. Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
