Sr Cabinet Finisher

Responsibilities Finishes high‑end aircraft cabinetry using polyester finish materials in a timely and efficient fashion ensuring quality standards are attained. Provides training to cabinet finishers. Supports the mentorship and training of the cabinet finishers. Mixes stain to desired color match. Mixes and weighs chemicals. Matches color of customer approved sample. Stains hardwoods/veneers using various techniques to obtain color match. Sands hardwoods and veneers. Sands and buffs all cabinetry and all surfaces and high‑gloss finishes. Sands between wash, build and finish coats. Masks off parts for paint and finish. Produces uniformity on pieces for aircraft ship set using stain. Monitors desired mill thickness of finish. Identifies and repairs imperfections. Repairs high gloss and satin finished surfaces. Sprays satin finish. Cleans final product. Works with aerospace materials consistently. Wears safety equipment as required and practices safety guidelines/procedures, including Hazardous Materials guidelines. Produces a quality product consistently. Interprets scheduling requirements to make adjustments as needed. Properly maintains and repairs spray equipment. Maintains a neat, organized work area and helps with the general daily housekeeping of the department. Meets target hours and completes schedules as set by supervision. Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts. Other duties as assigned. Education, Experience & Certification Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a minimum of four years VIP aircraft cabinetry experience. Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person, defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes. Ability to travel as required. Ability to work outside core business hours as required. Physical Requirements Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders. Able to lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance; lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Able to reach overhead. Able to work in a non‑dust‑free environment (ability to wear a respirator). Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks). Full range of motion with both hands. Can work in stooping, kneeling, standing positions and in cramped areas. Personal Tool Requirements Although the company provides some tools, the production of Aerospace Interiors requires many personal tools to ensure quality and productivity. These tools must be obtained within 6 months of initial employment and include, but are not limited to, cordless drills, pneumatic drills, angle drills, a tool box utility knife, putty knife and screwdriver (straight, small to medium), and a socket set. Shop Tool Operation Employees must demonstrate safe set‑up and operation of the following items: spray gun (paint), spray gun (polyester), bristle paint brush, foam paint brush, razor blade block, and sander (various sizes).
