Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students across a diverse Houston area school zone as a full-time Occupational Therapist. As part of this school-based assignment, you’ll work on-site exclusively with students ages 3-21, serving 6-7 schools grouped in proximity to your assigned zone for manageable commuting. The hands-on nature of this role will have you conducting evaluations, attending ARD meetings, and providing both direct and consultative OT services—ensuring students receive tailored support to maximize their educational potential.

This position is ideal for a highly skilled OT with school-based experience or a seasoned COTA with extensive school tenure. Your responsibilities focus on individualized treatment, leveraging SHARES and Onward for documentation, and independently maintaining accurate records for IEPs. With a balanced caseload—approximately 40 students receiving direct services and others on consult schedules—your expertise will make a direct impact.

Qualifications:

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in Texas (COTA’s with significant school experience also considered)
  • Experience working with pediatric or school-age populations (ages 3-21)
  • Familiarity with ARD/IEP processes
  • Proficiency in case documentation via school health records systems (SHARES, Onward, Excel logs)
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a rotating, consult-heavy caseload
  • Commitment to full-time hours (35 hours/week, standard school hours)

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and deliver OT services within an assigned school cluster
  • Participate in ARD meetings as needed
  • Document all interventions and assessments in required platforms
  • Collaborate with teams to support student needs
  • Rotate schedules for direct services based on caseload requirements
