Project Electrician/Process Controls/Instrumentation TechnicianThe Project Electrician/Process Controls/Instrumentation Technician will work on activities related to the NAVFAC Environmental Services project. Work will primarily support operations at the following facilities and associated sites (including ship piers, pump stations, sumps, and customer facilities):Bilge Oily Waste Treatment System (BOWTS) -- Building 3588, NBSDIndustrial Waste and Oily Waste (IWOW) Treatment Plant -- Building 788, NBC NIBilge Oily Waste Treatment System (BOWTS) -- Building 2004, NBPLBilge Oily Waste Treatment System (BOWTS) -- Building 333, NBC NABKey Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Perform low-voltage electrical connect/disconnect workInstall and remove electrical, control, and instrumentation equipmentConduct system testing, measurements, and data collection using standard test equipmentSet up, operate, and document tests, experiments, and inspectionsAssist with design modifications by compiling and analyzing field and technical dataTroubleshoot and correct system malfunctions, maintenance issues, and leak detection eventsPerform routine and as-needed maintenance on:Electrical equipment and pumpsInstrumentation and control systemsSCADA systems and communicationsSupport DoD-encrypted RF communications between pump stations and treatment plantsMaintain and annually certify instruments such as:Level indicators, switches, and transmittersLeak detection systemsCompile, analyze, and document production, operational, and leak detection dataCoordinate and support leak detection response actionsDocument work using prescribed recording methods, software, and hardwareConstruct, adapt, and support site-specific leak detection equipmentProvide miscellaneous field support and technical consulting services as neededTechnical Knowledge & Skills:Flow, temperature, pressure, and level monitoring systemsProcess switches, indicators, transmitters, and recordersCalibration wiring, testing, and system verificationElectrical and instrumentation troubleshooting techniquesPreventive and corrective maintenance best practicesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Strength: Standing 50% Walking 20% Sitting 30% Lifting 35 lb.
