About the Position

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Room setting with an average daily census of approximately 105 patients
• Manage patient flow across a department with 20 rooms and 26 beds, supporting up to 135 visits per day
• Float to the Observation Unit to cover ER hold patients as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, timely, and effective emergency care
• Adhere to weekend requirements, including 3 out of every 6 weekends, and be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)

Required Qualifications

• Active, valid California RN license (pending license not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Willingness and ability to float within the facility or to nearby affiliate facilities
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify under standard traveler guidelines
• Two professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are eligible to apply
• Experience working in high-census, fast-paced emergency department environments
• Familiarity with observation unit or ER hold patient care
