Pay:  $27.00 - $32.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

Thompson Electrics is seeking a skilled Electrician (Technician 1) to perform electrical installations across industrial and commercial job sites.

This role is responsible for executing conduit runs, wire pulls, and equipment installations with minimal supervision. You will work independently on standard tasks while contributing to overall project execution and crew productivity.

• Completes conduit runs and installations with minimal supervision
• Produces clean, accurate work that meets specs and code
• Maintains steady productivity and meets project timelines
• Demonstrates strong understanding of prints and layouts
• Requires limited rework or correction
• Able to troubleshoot; assess electrical needs accurately
• Communicate effectively and; appropriately with customers, co-workers, management both written and verbally
• Strong capabilities to work with hand-tools, power tools

OBJECTIVES

Conduit Installation

• Measure, cut, bend, and install EMT, rigid, IMC, and PVC conduit
• Execute offsets, saddles, and parallel runs
• Install conduit systems along walls, ceilings, racks, and underground

Wire Pulling & Cable Work

• Pull conductors using fish tape, rope systems, or tuggers
• Install feeder cables, branch circuits, and control wiring
• Maintain labeling, identification, and organization

Terminations

• Perform basic terminations in panels and junction boxes
• Follow torque specs and installation standards

Prints & Layout

• Read blueprints and conduit layouts
• Perform basic layout and mark conduit runs

Equipment Installation

• Install panels, disconnects, lighting, and basic equipment

COMPETENCIES

• Strong conduit bending and installation skills
• Ability to work from prints with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of NEC basics and job site standards
• Solid troubleshooting ability (basic level)
• Time management and task ownership

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 2–4+ years electrical experience
• Proven ability to work independently on most standard tasks
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License; Reliable Transportation
• Submission to Background; Drug Screens
