The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and the ability to handle transactions accurately while providing an exceptional shopping experience. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for managing the point of sale (POS) system, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Duties

• Operate the POS system to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Assist with stocking shelves and merchandising products to enhance the shopping experience.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and surrounding merchandise displays.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

Requirements

• Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and providing accurate change.
• Experience with cash handling procedures is essential.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as it enhances customer interaction.
• Knowledge of retail math concepts is a plus for managing inventory and sales reports.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Supervising experience is beneficial for those interested in leadership roles within the store.
