We are seeking a dedicated individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment; communicates professionally; and is eager to expand their knowledge of general practice companion animal care and veterinary medicine.
Our ideal candidate is dependable, motivated, compassionate, and eager to learn.Veterinary medicine is fast-paced and requires people who can recognize what needs to be done, communicate well, and work together as a team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will spend the majority of your work day assisting with the care of patients and our clients. A positive attitude and confidence interacting both with pets and their people are a must!
Essential Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Reliable transportation
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Minimum 6 months experience in any form of previous employment. (Customer service/animal care preferred)
Flexibility to work rotating weekend shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years or more of veterinary assisting experience
Experience with veterinary practice management software
Knowledge of companion animal behavior and handling, including exotic mammals and reptiles (a plus)
Basic understanding of veterinary terminology, pharmacology, and calculations
Familiarity with canine and feline vaccination protocols, laboratory procedures, venipuncture, and caring for hospitalized or surgical patients

Full time employees can expect to work between 36-40 hours per week.
