Summary Staff designated at Dickinson Wright PLLC (the “Firm”) as Student Intern will join a supportive working environment with a firm having a national platform while handling sophisticated matters for some of the nation’s largest and most innovative companies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Research all aspects of a matter, including relevant state law, case law and other legal texts; Provide legal advice and counsel to clients; Represent clients at meetings, hearings and/or trials; Act as a business representative and working with the business to ensure that legal matters are handled professionally and efficiently; With regard to litigation, assist with discovery, attend depositions, work on trial preparation, jury selection and attend trial; and Work under the supervision of senior attorneys. Qualifications Student Interns must possess strong academic credentials, analytic, writing and communication skills and provide excellent references. Student Interns are expected to meet Minimum Performance Standards as provided in the Attorney Manual. Working Conditions Normal law office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, temperature.
