Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Bronx & Harlem, NY | $130,000–$180,000 | Full-Time Are you an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) looking for a role that offers schedule flexibility, diverse clinical experience, and the opportunity to take on greater clinical leadership? A mission-driven behavioral healthcare organization in New York City is seeking an experienced PMHNP to provide psychiatric care to an adult patient population (18+) across community-based behavioral health, residential, and substance-use treatment programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a PMHNP who enjoys working with complex behavioral health populations and wants exposure to multiple areas of psychiatric and substance-use care. Full-time, permanent position ~ Flexible schedule based on program and provider needs ~ Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday schedules preferred ~ You'll provide psychiatric care to adults across several behavioral health settings, including outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment, substance-use treatment, and medication-assisted treatment programs . Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments Diagnose psychiatric and behavioral health conditions Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis intervention when necessary Provide psychiatric care to adults with complex behavioral health needs Treat individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance-use disorders Collaborate with multidisciplinary behavioral health and medical teams Coordinate care with hospitals, primary care providers, specialists, and community resources Support continuity of care across outpatient and residential settings Provide clinical guidance to other members of the care team Participate in quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives Participate in a shared, light on-call rotation for urgent clinical matters This position serves adults ages 18+ across several different behavioral health environments. Active New York State Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license ~ Board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) ~ Active DEA registration and NPI ~3+ years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred ~ Strong psychiatric assessment and medication-management experience ~ Experience in community behavioral health, outpatient psychiatry, residential treatment, substance-use treatment, MAT, or similar settings preferred ~ Comfortable treating adults with complex psychiatric and substance-use needs ~ Comfortable collaborating across multidisciplinary healthcare teams ~ Telepsychiatry experience is a plus This isn't a traditional psychiatric medication-management position. You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple areas of behavioral healthcare, including outpatient psychiatry, residential care, substance-use treatment, and MAT, while also contributing to the development and improvement of clinical practices. The organization also offers schedule flexibility, with Sunday–Thursday and Tuesday–Saturday schedules preferred, and a very light shared on-call rotation.
