This role is based at a military medical facility in Fort Benning, GA.

Emergency Medicine Physician - Full-Time

We are in search of a seasoned and proficient Emergency Medicine Physician to commence work as soon as possible, ideally by spring or summer of 2026. The selected candidate will handle a diverse array of cases, frequently characterized by ambiguous symptoms or overlapping medical conditions, catering to a patient demographic that spans from children to the elderly. This position demands a high level of skill, insight, and independent judgment to ensure accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and appropriate referrals in a dynamic emergency department setting.

Qualified applicants may be Board Certified emergency physicians or those who have completed residency training with a minimum of four years of experience in an emergency room.

Salary Range: $123,000 - $350,000

Key Responsibilities

• Triage and Diagnosis: Act as a Medical Officer in the Emergency Room, assessing patients with a range of complex conditions. Utilize independent judgment to accurately diagnose and treat individuals presenting with vague or overlapping symptoms.
• Critical Decision-Making: Make urgent, critical decisions and initiate treatment for challenging emergency cases, including heart attacks, head injuries, lacerations, seizures, and other life-threatening situations.
• Direct Patient Treatment: Address the physical needs of patients (e.g., administering IV fluids for heat exhaustion, prescribing medications) or identify when to refer patients to specialists for further evaluation and treatment.
• Surgical Procedures: Conduct minor surgical interventions as necessary, such as incision and drainage of abscesses, hemorrhoids, and suturing of lacerations.
• Leadership and Supervision: Provide instruction and oversight to other medical staff in patient care and treatment, serving as a Senior Specialist and mentor within the department.
• Medication Management: Administer and prescribe suitable medications and treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of all pertinent medical information and patient histories in the Composite Health Care System (CHCS).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Citizenship: US Citizenship is mandatory.
• Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited institution.
• Residency: Completion of an accredited residency program in emergency medicine.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Board Certified emergency medicine physician or residency-trained with at least four years of emergency room experience (Family Medicine and potentially Internal Medicine may also qualify if they meet the experience requirement).
• Postgraduate Clinical Experience: Required in emergency medicine.
• Licensure and Certification: Must possess a valid state medical license and current registration to practice. Board certification or eligibility from ABEM or AOBEM is necessary. CPR certification is required, while ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications are highly preferred.
