Maintenance Manager

Manufacturing Operations Manages all maintenance/SBM/RHB/IM operations within appropriate process guidelines and budgets Oversees all cost control/justification for the department, including purchasing of machine repair parts Develops and implements modifications and improvements, recommending specifications and scheduling for new projects and process improvements Schedules daily repair activities Maintains preventive maintenance program and ensures it is performed as scheduled Supervises and inspects repair and maintenance work to ensure effective, efficient and up‑to‑date maintenance and repair technology practices are used Reviews and analyzes maintenance work orders to ensure proper repair was made and trends in machine issues are identified Maintains work order system Actively meets with vendors and suppliers to ensure best price/quality on all part and/or repair orders Maintains and ensures organization of part inventory Maintains physical plant including grounds Coordinates with outside repair vendors and ensures their work is completed according to standard procedures Ensures all employees in the department adhere to safety guidelines and conform to all Safety Absolutes Supervises and insures that the quality of all products produced meets the customer’s specifications Works with Corporate Engineering group on all new installation/refurbishment projects Monitors daily scrap and regrind totals to ensure that all material usage is maximized and scrap is kept to a minimum Actively meets with customers to ensure quality is maintained and customer expectations are met Responsible for maintaining the Food Safety Program (GMP) Personnel Lead staff to accomplish activities in an efficient and safe manner by Ensuring all employees are working safely and have received the correct safety instruction and PPE for their jobs Achieving a goal of zero recordable and lost‑time accidents Providing definition of job duties Providing training for all employees to ensure their skills and knowledge are adequate to perform all functions of their job Conducting performance evaluations and work performance management opportunities Defining criteria for personnel advancement Administering coaching/counseling as required in a timely manner Enforcing personnel policies and procedures; completing and submitting all associated paperwork in a timely manner Assisting in the selection of staff Controlling employee overtime hours Manufacturing Support Assist other departments with special projects as assigned Actively participate in production and safety management team meetings as requested Authorities Authority to shut down production or stop any machine for any reason deemed necessary Perform essential functions and assigned duties while communicating any deviations from the requirements to management Report any safety concerns to management and shut down any equipment that presents a safety hazard Stop production or shut down equipment for any machine malfunction deemed to be a functional property Education and Qualification Requirements BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. Technical Skills Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership to peers and subordinates Processing knowledge of injection molding, stretch blow molding and reheat and blow molding equipment Preventative Maintenance Program development Knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, rules and regulations Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment Flexibility to work some overtime, as necessary Preparation of cost estimates, budgets, correspondence and status reports Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and automated work order tracking system Experience 8-10 years of progressive experience as a Molding, Maintenance or Production Manager in a high volume‑manufacturing environment.
