Specimen Management Technician

Specimen Management Technician at Altasciences in Everett, Washington, responsible for receipt, preparation, processing, and storage of laboratory specimens in compliance with GLP guidelines and study protocols. The role involves coordination with multiple departments and maintenance of chain of custody documentation.

Responsibilities

• Receive, centrifuge, separate, and transfer or ship specimens per SOPs and protocol design
• Maintain chain of custody and ensure timely specimen transfer for analysis, archive, or storage
• Coordinate with study directors, pathologists, laboratory staff, and vivarium personnel
• Document procedures, maintain equipment records, and perform quality control on logs and forms
• Maintain laboratory and shipping supplies and ensure department cleanliness

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Laboratory or regulated environment experience preferred
• Knowledge of IATA and 49 CFR transportation safety requirements preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Valid U.S. work authorization without employer sponsorship needed

Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
