General Manager

THE ROLE:
As General Manager, you will oversee daily operations for Sweet Afton. We're looking for a strategic thinker, problem solver, multi-tasker, and excellent communicator. This key leader will uphold Sweet Afton’s standards of excellence in all areas including team management, financial accountability, quality of service, and guest relations.

WHO YOU ARE:

• 3+ years of experience in restaurant management in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• An approachable and intelligent leader who can motivate, manage, and develop a large and diverse team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter who is results-oriented and who appreciates and takes initiative on both the essential details and the bigger picture
• Team player with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
• Superb time management skills with the ability to prioritize and organize work assignments, have timely follow-up and execution
• Extensive knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and cocktails
• Full availability, including nights and weekends

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Oversee and hands-on management of day-to-day operations of Sweet Afton
• Manage the FOH and BOH teams, working floor shifts creating a positive work environment, driving sales, motivating the team, and creating exceptional guest experiences
• Lead the team on hiring, training, coaching, and overall development of team members including orientation, performance reviews, and any necessary disciplinary action
• Develop strategies to manage and be accountable for restaurant financials such as food and beverage costs and labor efficiency
• Maintain quality and standards of Sweet Afton’s culture, food, drink, service, and atmosphere
• Foster a dynamic, fun, and inclusive culture

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift & carry at least 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending & standing)
