Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician role is responsible for monitoring, repairing, and maintaining various types of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems as well as general facility maintenance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Accurately maintain records of labor time, parts used, and work accomplished.Responsible for general building maintenance repair, including but not limited to the repair/replacement of bathroom door hardware, ceiling tiles, seats, furniture, HVAC, plumbing, light electrical, roof and field assistance.Timely completion of assigned reactive and preventive maintenance work orders.Perform other duties and responsibilities as required in a team-orientated, can-do environment.Demonstrate attention to detail, willingness to cross train, and ability to learn on the job.Qualifications:High school diploma, GED, or vocational trainingMinimum 2-3 years of experience in building maintenanceMust possess a valid driver's licenseMust possess a strong general mechanical abilityFamiliarity with OSHA requirements, knowledge of security and safetySkills and Abilities:Knowledge in the repair of drywall, doors, and associated hardware, millwork, seating, and furnitureKnowledge of general building maintenance and repairs to major systemsKnowledge of various types of staging, manlifts, and forkliftsKnowledge of concrete repair, tile, and grout repair, VCT and rug repairKnowledge of laminates and commercial framingAbility to work independently or under the direction of the building engineerAbility to run various small pieces of machinery such as pressure washers, saws, drills, grinders, and other equipmentPossesses computer skillsExperience with electronic preventive maintenance programs preferredAbility to work in fast paced environmentAbility to climb stairs and lift 40 lbs. unaidedMust possess excellent communication skillsAbility to perform work at high heightsDemonstrate attention to detailCapable of working nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as neededAbility to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines and function under stressCompensation:Competitive wage, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.Working Conditions:Location: On Site – Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls, SDPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
