Mechanical Engineer

Required Skills & Experience

BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of skills, education and experience.\n\nProficient use of computer-aided design and analysis software, with SolidWorks preferred.\n\nStrong understanding of engineering fundamentals, including mechanics of materials, heat transfer, vibration, and structural dynamics.\n\nExperience in the design of electronics packaging and cooling.\n\nFamiliarity with GD&T and Design for Manufacturing (DFM), with experience applying these principles to improve product quality and manufacturability.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in environmental testing to MIL-STD or equivalent industrial test levels, including shock, vibration, thermal, and immersion.\n\nExperience with SolidWorks Flow Simulation.

Job Description

Design the packaging for ruggedized equipment with electrical and mechanical elements.\n\nPerform and interpret thermal simulation analyses aligned with military standard environmental requirements.\n\nProduce build-to drawings and data packages and collaborate with suppliers to resolve specification, performance, and reliability issues and realize the commercial and custom-machined parts necessary to build the end product.\n\nCollaborate with hardware designers to jointly optimize circuit card layout with special attention to thermal performance and mitigation.\n\nWork collaboratively across the engineering organization to understand requirements, provide and incorporate technical feedback, and report status.
