Emergency Medicine Physician

We are seeking a LocumsEmergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Thisopportunity offers flexible scheduling in a busy emergency department with amoderate annual patient volume and a collaborative clinical environment.
PositionHighlights
- Schedule: 4-12 shifts per month
- Shift Length: 8 hours
- Available Shifts:
- 6:30 AM-2:30 PM
- 1:30 PM-10:30 PM
- 9:30 PM-6:30 AM
- Annual ED Volume: Approximately 22,000 patients
- EMR: Epic
- Dictation: Dragon
- Scribes: None
PatientVolume & Acuity
- Approximately 77% discharge rate
- Approximately 14% admission rate
- Approximately 4% left before treatment complete
- Approximately 2.8% observation
- Approximately 2.5% transfer
Responsibilities
- Provide routine emergency medicine care to patients of varying acuity
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting to the Emergency Department
- Respond to codes and other emergent situations
- Perform appropriate emergency procedures and interventions
- Collaborate with nursing staff, consultants, and other members of the healthcare team
- Locums physicians will have limited trauma responsibilities
- Complete accurate and timely documentation using Epic and Dragon
Requirements
- Active Iowa medical license
- Active DEA
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications
- Emergency Medicine experience required
