This high-impact role is pivotal in shaping the analytical strategy that underpins Chevron's global trading operations. The successful candidate will lead a team of analysts, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and cross-regional collaboration—driving greater value creation through actionable and profitable insights, as well as championing advanced digital tools and models.Key ResponsibilitiesInspire and lead a high-performing team of commercial analysts, setting clear expectations and cultivating a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and innovationDrive strategic insight by overseeing analysis of market fundamentals, pricing structures, trade flows, and competitor activity to inform trading strategies and unlock commercial opportunitiesFoster global collaboration by partnering with analysts and traders across Houston, San Ramon, Singapore, and London to align on arbitrage strategies, supply/demand modeling, and market positioningAdvance analytical capabilities by guiding the development and deployment of deterministic and dynamic models that identify and quantify trading opportunities across physical and financial marketsChampion digital innovation by promoting adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling, and AI to enhance trading performance and uncover untapped valueEmbed risk intelligence by integrating quantitative risk management methodologies into trading decisions and exposure strategiesPromote continuous improvement by leading lookback reviews, evaluating forecast accuracy, and refining analytical approaches based on outcomes**Required Qualifications:**Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Applied Math, Data Science, or related fieldMinimum 7 years of experience in energy trading, commodity markets, or commercial analyticsMinimum 2 years of direct people leadership or team management experienceStrong commercial judgment with the ability to translate complex data into actionable, trade-relevant recommendationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present market insights clearly to influence decisions at all levelsCollaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced, global trading environment with a digital-first mindset and passion for innovation**Preferred Qualifications:**Master's degree or MBAProficiency in Excel and at least one of Python/SQL; experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)Experience with advanced modeling platforms (Databricks, DataRobot, Dataiku)Prior experience in a trading house, energy major, or commodity-focused analytics organizationCross-commodity expertise spanning crude, products, natural gas, LNG, or shipping**Relocation Options:**Relocation **is not** offered for this role.
