RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Critical Care and Emergency Nursing Duration: 13 Shift: Third Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Previous nursing experience preferred License: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: ADN or ASN required Ability to communicate and collaborate with other care team members Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices for all patients Description:Critical Care and/or Emergency Float Pool RN responsible for patient populations that may include ICU, Emergency Department, Med-Surg, and Telemetry.The Float Pool RN provides flexible nursing support throughout the organization in response to patient care and staffing needs.Qualified candidates must possess experience in either the Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit, along with Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience.Float assignments are determined on a shift-by-shift basis by the Clinical House Supervisor according to operational demands.This role requires the ability to deliver safe, high-quality patient care across multiple clinical settings.The Float Pool RN will routinely provide coverage across Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units, Transitional Care/Observation units, the Emergency Department, and the Intensive Care Unit.Demonstrates flexibility, clinical competence, and strong critical-thinking skills in a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities include:Assessment of patient needs and performing comprehensive assessments.Considering the patient’s culture, age, and developmental level.Identifying patient risk factors and presenting complaints.Obtaining health information from family or others as necessary.Collecting objective and subjective data.Verifying initial admission assessments, if obtained by other team members.Developing a problem list and prioritizing patient needs based on inter-professional team input.Designing actions and interventions relevant to the patient’s culture and age.Determining desired outcomes in coordination with patients and families.Fully implementing patient care therapies and procedures within the established policies and guidelines.Explaining procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families.Initiating actions to alleviate patient stress and discomfort.Recognizing, responding to, and communicating changes in patient conditions appropriately.Conducting ongoing assessments and documenting responses to procedures and therapies using the nursing process.Delegating tasks appropriately and overseeing team members in patient care activities.Monitoring the accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by other team members.Identifying and addressing educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems.Facilitating the patient discharge process by executing discharge orders in a timely manner.Providing input into patient/nurse assignments considering staffing, unit activity, and patient acuity.Demonstrating active participation in unit-based activities in support of organizational values and priorities.Promoting a positive group dynamic and healing environment through effective communication and actions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
