Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nurse in the Operating Room provides comprehensive perioperative care to surgical patients across various specialties. This role involves bedside assessment, planning, and executing nursing interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients pre-operatively to establish baseline data and identify potential risks.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans tailored to surgical procedures.
• Circulate in multiple specialty areas, including Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General, Ophthalmology, and Dental.
• Obtain scrubbing experience to assist in sterile surgical procedures.
• Prepare for emergency cases and work varied hours, including on-call shifts.
• Evaluate patient responses post-operation and adjust care plans accordingly.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid, current, unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
• Complete Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of employment.
• Hold an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Have at least two years of clinical or operating room nursing experience.
