Responsibilities

• Provide PTA support under the supervision of a physical therapist, following the approved plan of care
• Assist with therapeutic activities, exercises, gait training, and modalities to improve mobility, strength, and balance
• Monitor patient responses to treatment, document progress, and communicate changes to the supervising PT and care team
• Support patient transfers, positioning, and safe mobility techniques; maintain patient safety and infection control practices
• Educate patients and families on exercises, safety considerations, and appropriate home programs
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize rehabilitation outcomes

Requirements

• Active PTA license or eligibility in Mississippi (per state requirements)
• PTA credential from an accredited program or equivalent education
• Experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or LTAC settings preferred
• Ability to work effectively in an LTAC environment and adapt to patient needs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach
