Patient Services Specialist

Description Having one point of connection for our patients, ensures our patients are directed to the right party when they call our office. As a Patient Services Specialist you will have the opportunity to be a kind and helpful voice on the phone for patients needing to schedule an appointment, speak with a nurse, or direct to the billing department with questions. You will have multiple team members around you, but you have your own cubicle that can be tailored to your style. Prior experience in a call center environment and/or medical office is a plus. This is a full‑time position (Monday‑Friday, 8 a‑5 p) located on the second floor of our West Des Moines office. The job will offer a remote opportunity once training is complete and the employee is ready to work a hybrid schedule. What You Can Expect Wear a headset and take incoming calls, gathering information accurately and quickly about patients, insurance, and their situation. Help match patients with either a referred provider or the first available provider for their particular issue. Provide empathetic service, understanding that patients may not always be pleasant, while maintaining outstanding experiences. What We’re Looking For Strong communication skills: clear, professional, with active listening and concise questioning. Customer‑service experience, preferably from a call‑center or phone‑based environment. Calm demeanor and ability to reassure nervous patients. Efficient multitasking: research, organize thoughts, and assist patients in a timely manner. Why DMOS?
