About Fork Union Military Academy Fork Union Military Academy, an all-boys boarding school located in the beautiful central Virginia region near Charlottesville, Richmond, and the Blue Ridge Mountains, is seeking a dedicated PRN professional for our infirmary department. Position Overview Fork Union Military Academy is seeking a PRN School Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to our cadets. This part‑time position requires excellent assessment skills, good communication, multi‑tasking, and attention to detail. Care coordination with medical professionals, school faculty and staff, and the families of cadets is an essential part of this job. Responsibilities At a minimum, the PRN nurse will cover: Two 24‑hour shifts per month while the school is in session. Two 12‑hour shifts per month while the school is in session. The PRN nurse will also be used for the following: Additional help at check‑ins. Shift coverage when a nurse is sick. Shift coverage when a nurse takes PTO. Qualifications Valid Virginia nursing license (BSN preferred). Current CPR certification. At least 5 years of recent primary care, medical‑surgical, ER, ICU/Trauma experience (preferred).
