Workers Compensation Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Workers' Compensation Attorney in Oakland, CA. This position offers an opportunity to manage a full caseload while supervising a team of case managers. The role is ideal for attorneys aiming to enhance their litigation skills and step into a leadership position. Duties Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation matters from inception through resolution. Negotiate and settle active cases. Appear at hearings, conferences, depositions, and trials as required. Supervise and provide direction to a team of case managers. Review case manager work for accuracy and timeliness. Communicate with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and medical providers. Draft pleadings, motions, and settlement documents. Evaluate cases and lead settlement negotiations. Ensure compliance with WCAB procedures and internal workflows. Requirements Active California Bar license. Minimum 1 year of workers' compensation experience. Strong knowledge of WCAB procedures and California labor code. Experience supervising or mentoring staff is a plus. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while overseeing support staff. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Active California Bar license.
