Job Role: Azure Data Engineer


Location: Remote


Duration: 6 Months


Need Candidate on W2 only


Skillset Requirements:

• 5-7+ years of experience as a data engineer
• Experience in utilizing Azure and the date engineering products within the platform
• Experience with a wide variety of data ingestion processes and file types/formats (EDI, Json, Flat files etc)
• Strong in Spark- specifically experience and understanding around how to optimize for a variety of data ingestion scenarios
• Strong in working with Data Factory/ Data bricks and an understanding of logs and how they impact analytics
• Strong coding skills in one of the following: Python, Scala, or NodeJS
• IAC tools- they currently use Terraform, but could also have experience with any of the other IAC tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet etc) At this stage in the project they need to know what these tools are and how they interact in the environment, they don't necessarily need to know how to build from scratch as the infrastructure they'll be working on is already built
• Experience working in an CI/CD Environment utilizing Jenkins and Git. They will build and deploy the pipelines and then had off to the ops team for support.
• Excellent communication skills: Personality and culture fit is important. They want folks who are capable of communicating with 6-9 different internal teams they'll be interacting with. They like those that are curious in nature and strong problem solvers
• Comfortable working in a Kanban environment- do not have to have worked in this framework before.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Work with Client Delivery Leads to understand the customer data (ingestion, format etc) and provide feedback on the CDLs on how best the solution should be engineered for optimal success
• Provide feedback and input to the Data analyst teams on how the data mapping is done.
• Work to build new cloud based data pipelines for new clients coming on board and rebuild pipelines for customers who are existing. Focus for new architecture is automation, push button deployments, customization for clients etc.
• Develops services, controls, and reusable patterns that enable the team to deliver value safely, quickly, and sustainably in the public cloud.
• Define and implement technical solutions to meet business needs through Agile process
• Gather and analyze data to aid in informed decision-making while providing detailed, realistic estimates
• Proactively automate infrastructure, application, and services to enable an automated delivery through the
  CICD pipelines to the cloud
