Trial Paralegal

We are an established real estate law firm with offices across California. We are looking for a Trial Paralegal to join our fast-paced team in our Concord office. If chosen as the successful candidate, you will assist attorneys with tenant-contested evictions and ensure the efficient and timely production of documents in the trial phase of the unlawful detainer process.About Us:With nearly 50 years in the California legal industry and six offices statewide, our firm was founded on a commitment to customer service that has flourished within our culture of inclusion and diversity. It is our mission to provide the highest quality, cost-effective legal services to our clients.Compensation:$32-$42/hour (DOE) + BenefitsResponsibilities:Conduct legal research, respond to discovery, and produce and draft legal documents and pleadingsSchedule, prepare, and serve motions and oppositions, including motions to compel, ex parte motions, demurrers, motions to quash, and motions to strikeSupport trial attorneys with preparation of trial binders and jury trial documentsPerform e-filing, paper filing, and additional administrative duties as needed by the departmentAssist in client contact regarding responsive pleadings, hearing dates, and court information as neededProvide backup assistance for additional trial department staff as neededQualifications:We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent experienceTrial and litigation experience with San Francisco County Courts are a must3-5 years paralegal experienceExcellent writing skills with demonstrated experience in drafting legal documentsPrevious law firm experience in a high-volume environmentProfessional communication skills via telephone and emailStrong attention to detail and ability to multi-taskMinimum typing speed of 65 words per minute; versatile computer skillsThe following qualifications are preferred:Knowledge of unlawful detainersFamiliar with local county court rules and proceduresProLaw experienceSchedule:Position is full-time at 40 hours/week. Our business hours are 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm Friday.We currently offer an in-office/hybrid work model for select positions within the Firm.
