In-Office | Las Cruces, NM, United States Mountainview Regional Medical Center Position Details Travel Endoscopy Technician (ASAP) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday – Friday, call required. Call rotation: full week with day and night shift (Monday 3 p.m. – Friday 6 a.m.; weekends 7 a.m. – 7 a.m.) Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2 years as an endoscopy technician or comparable role. Certification: BLS or ASHI required. GI certification and CST experience preferred. Additional: Completion of the SGNA Advanced Associates Program (certificate required). CMA, CNA, CPCT preferred. GI certification or CST/CORST preferred. Knowledge: Ability to communicate in English, professional and practice issues in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Hands‑on: Experience assisting GI physicians with complex ERCP, SPYGiass, sphincter of Oddi manometry, pancreatic endotherapy, and EUS‑guided biliary and pancreatic ductal interventions. Safety: Familiarity with laser safety standards. Scope of Role Prepares procedure rooms and ensures proper setup of equipment, instruments, and supplies for each endoscopic procedure. Assists procedural teams by anticipating the needs of the physician and supporting patient positioning during procedures. Cleans, decontaminates, and performs high-level disinfection of endoscopic equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and facility policies. Troubleshoots and resolves issues with endoscopes and related equipment to minimize procedural delays. Ensures proper handling, labeling, and documentation of specimens and cultures in accordance with policy. Monitors and maintains inventory of supplies, ensuring all items are in stock and removing expired items as needed. Maintains accurate department records, including quality control documentation for decontamination and equipment maintenance. Operates and maintains all scopes and equipment, performing leak testing, cleaning, and inspection. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable regulations. The Value You’ll Bring to the Team Assist in advanced endoscopic procedures on high-acuity patients, including Grade III ERCP, SPYGiass cholangioscopy, complex endomucosal resection, sphincter of Oddi manometry, pancreatic endotherapy, ultrasound-guided interventions, peroral endoscopic myotomy, double‑balloon enteroscopy, endosuturing, cyst gastroscopy, ESD, endoscopic vacuum therapy, and overstitch. Select and operate the appropriate equipment and accessories for advanced procedures, troubleshooting equipment issues. Assist with biopsy, stent placement, and image acquisition during procedures. Participate in national teaching conferences, live training courses, and act as preceptor for trainee technicians. Provide safe, clean, tested, and inspected instruments by performing precise decontamination functions and maintaining test records. Ensure proper care and handling of instruments and scopes, including leak testing and maintenance documentation. Additional Information No floating required. Scrubs: Any color.
