Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiothoracic Operating Room – Wisconsin

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Location: Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with primary schedule of 6:40 AM - 7:10 PM, with occasional 9:40 AM - 10:10 PM shifts biweekly. Weekday and weekend call required. Weekend coverage includes every 4th-5th weekend from Friday through Monday morning. 1:1 patient ratio. Contract length of 17-21 weeks available.

Highlights:

• Tier 2 Cardiac Operating Room position at a Magnet-designated, nationally ranked teaching hospital and referral center
• Advanced cardiothoracic surgical experience required: ECMO, CABG, LVAD, thoracic robotics (da Vinci Xi), lobectomy, mitral valve procedures, VATS, and lung resection
• Epic charting system in use
• Work with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity Level I or similar trauma environment
• Opportunity to provide care across adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Professional development in complex surgical cases at a premier academic medical center

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Wisconsin or compact state license; pending Wisconsin license accepted with submission)
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum of two years acute care operating room experience within the last three years
• Strong cardiac and thoracic surgery background required, including experience with ECMO, CABG, ascending aortic procedures, LVAD, thoracic robotics, and related cardiovascular procedures
• Experience at Level I trauma or similar high-acuity facilities preferred; Level II trauma experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must successfully complete telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to start
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Willingness to float as needed within facility
• Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
