Data Management Lead

Position Summary Define and own the data strategy for a therapeutic area within a federated data mesh architecture, ensuring full lifecycle accountability for domain data products (design/development through stewardship and retirement). Deliver high-quality, business-aligned data products that support commercial, medical, and market access decision-making. Main Responsibilities Domain Ownership & Strategy: Align data initiatives to brand goals, KPIs, and operational priorities; accountable owner for therapeutic area data products and business impact. Data Product Management: Oversee lifecycle for data products supporting commercial operations (e.g., HCP segmentation, targeting models, dashboards, campaign analytics); ensure data products are discoverable, trustworthy, and usable; define ownership/SLAs/support. Business-Led Governance: Define/enforce business rules, definitions, and quality standards; collaborate with domain managers for federated governance; ensure compliance with regulations (with Legal/Compliance). Stewardship & Quality Assurance: Monitor/improve quality, completeness, timeliness; lead issue resolution/root cause analysis/continuous improvement; establish/report data quality metrics. Collaboration: Partner with Digital and analytics teams; translate business requirements to technical specs. Metadata & Documentation: Ensure metadata, lineage, usage guidelines; support data catalogs/discovery. Data Literacy: Train teams on definitions/tools; drive analytics culture. Performance Measurement: Track/report business impact; use feedback loops. Budgeting & Resource Planning: Manage domain budgets, vendors, tools, staffing; advocate for resources. Required Skills Strategic thinking; data product management; therapeutic area commercial data expertise (APLD, Rx, sales, customer data); governance/compliance knowledge; data stewardship; technical collaboration; metadata/catalog/lineage; data literacy enablement; KPI/performance measurement; budget/resource management; strong communication. Required Qualifications BS in Life Sciences, Data Science, Business, or related field. 7+ years in commercial data management/analytics/commercial operations (life sciences). Experience with data mesh/domain-oriented architecture. Strong background with life sciences commercial data assets and operations.
