Medical Assistant - Primary Care

Care Delivery Team MemberMember of the care delivery team will function under the direction of clinical leadership to provide delegated patient care interventions to include data collection pertinent to the patient, abstracting health information, identifying gaps in the patient's care, coordinating patient tests and services, and communicating with care team members and with patients to address care needs. Independent clinical decision-making is outside of the scope of this position; refer clinical questions to the provider or nurse. The delivery of professional nursing care at Stormont Vail Health is guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring and the theory of Shared governance, both of which are congruent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.Education QualificationsSuccessfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program. Required orSuccessfully completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program. Required orA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician may be substituted for the educational requirement.
