Backend - Lead Engineer (Next Generation Financial Systems Business)

Description Datachain announced a project to build a global payment solutions infrastructure on 5 September 2024! Since its inception in 2018, Datachain has been continuing R&D on technology and business opportunities with the aim of creating a ‘De‑Facto infrastructure’ as a Global x Deep Tech company from Japan. We aim to become a Decacorn (a start‑up with an enterprise value of more than USD 10 billion), and we are often told that we need to win in Global x Deep Tech to realize this goal. As a major first step, the announced project will start, but we have a limited amount of time to get off to a flying start with a big advantage in this area, where the world's top companies will be our competitors. As the first penguin, we are currently rapidly expanding our recruitment in order to create a ‘De‑Facto infrastructure’ as a Global x Deep Tech company from Japan. Position Mission You will lead the design, development, and operation of back‑end systems for a new business supporting next‑generation financial systems. Working with product managers, tech leads from other fields, and front‑end and blockchain engineers, you will leverage the full technology stack to promote the creation of a globally deployable financial infrastructure. You will establish a development system that balances speed and quality, from designing highly available APIs to optimizing infrastructure through managed cloud services, building a CI/CD pipeline, and improving documentation. In this position, you will lead the formulation of the underlying technical policy, development flow, and design principles, and will be responsible for creating an environment in which the team can advance development autonomously and providing decision‑making support. You will also be expected to drive consensus building with stakeholders on ambiguous requirements and new domains, and play an active role in integrating them into a structural technical framework. As a lead engineer, you will support technical decision‑making and in‑house development from a medium‑to‑long‑term perspective. His strengths range from engineering to new business planning, PO/PdM/PM, infrastructure/security, programming, architecture, and UI/UX. He then worked at CyberAgent, where he led an ad tech development team and launched new businesses. He then served as an engineering manager at Merpay and Kakehashi, where he was responsible for improving the engineering organization. He then joined Datachain as an engineering manager. Business Manager Profile Previously at JPMorgan, he served as Vice President of payments, leading the digital currency settlement business for banks. He is a CAMS (Certified Anti‑Money Laundering Specialist) certified professional.
