About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic experience Description: A professional nurse is an individual accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are priorities. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education is essential. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care is a key responsibility. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Focus on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction is required. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff are also responsibilities of the RN. Key responsibilities include: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. The RN reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaboration with patient, family, and interdisciplinary services is necessary. Utilization of resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family is crucial. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. This includes care, treatment, and services provided during the stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. The RN functions as a mentor and preceptor, demonstrating teamwork. Identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement is essential. Participation in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts is expected. Compliance with regulatory standards and participation in a governance model are also required.
