We are currently seeking a Software Development Advisor to join our team in Guadalajara, Jalisco (MX-JAL), Mexico (MX).

Role: Engineering Support Level 3 - Controls Engineering, Support experience preferably in 4-10 years range
Responsibilities:
•  Investigate and drive support resolution with internal stake holders and other Controls Engineering teams. Serve as point of escalation for support issues from Controls Engineering
•  Work closely with the engineering team to drive resolution of client issues.
•  Look for opportunities to automate existing process and use AI tooling.
•  Manage incidents and Post Mortems. Ensure SLOs are met and clients are kept informed and happy.
•  Create documentation /runbooks and code snippets to share with clients and internal engineering teams

Key criteria:
•  Must be comfortable coding and debugging in Java or Python. Experience of Kubernetes and front end development tools such as  REACT an advantage.
•  Must have experience in a support role and role will require shifts including bank holidays. Experience managing incidents.
•  Must be presentable to clients and a clear, empathetic communicator able to talk to clients and stakeholders with confidence.
•  Must be willing to execute on support issues while also building out the function and automating resolution of repeat issues.
•  Good Knowledge of SDLC, CVS, SVN, GIT, Maven, GITLAB, Docker and Jenkins.
•  work experience on SDLC, LINUX system platforms.

•  Provide L3 support for complex production issues, including deep analysis, debugging, code-level fixes, and end-to-end validation.
•  Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions.
•  Manage incident lifecycle, including outage communication, tracking, escalation, and post-resolution follow-ups.
•  Ensure adherence to SLA commitments with a strong focus on reducing recurring incidents.
Application Support
•  Support Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) operations, including code compilation, builds, artifact management, and software distribution.
•  Troubleshoot issues related to CI/CD pipelines, repositories, and build systems.
•  Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and ensure build stability.
•  Validate releases to minimize production risks and rollback scenarios.
Infrastructure & Automation
•  Provide infrastructure and platform support across Linux-based environments.
•  Automate repetitive operational tasks using Shell, Python\Java, or Perl scripting.
•  Support configuration management and automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible.
•  Improve system efficiency by developing automation solutions for provisioning, monitoring, and operational workflows.
Monitoring, Performance & Reliability
•  Utilize tools like Splunk for log analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
•  Continuously focus on performance tuning, scalability, and system optimization.
•  Identify trends, defects, and system inefficiencies to drive proactive improvements.
Database & Systems Expertise
•  Work with relational databases (Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, Sybase) and write optimized SQL queries.
•  Support application servers and middleware such as Apache, Tomcat.
•  Manage job scheduling and batch processing using tools like Autosys/CRON.
